About Green River

Green River

Named after the river that winds through most of its service area, Green River Community College is a two-year public college in Washington state that offers degrees and certificates in academic and professional and technical programs, as well as courses in continuing education and developmental education.

Green River’s Main Campus is situated on over 180 acres of beautifully forested land in the suburban city of Auburn, located 30 miles south of Seattle.  Established in 1965, the Main Campus affords students a learning experience in a serene setting unique to suburban colleges. An aggressive campus building plan has resulted in a series of new facilities, one of which, Salish Hall, will open in 2011. On-campus apartments accommodate 340 students. Green River has the Kent Campus located in the middle of the City of Kent’s new downtown shopping district, serving more than 1,000 quarterly students. The Enumclaw Campus offers a variety of credit and non-credit classes serving the needs of the Enumclaw community and surrounding plateau area.
