Green River's Marketing and Communications Department was recently recognized for outstanding communications work by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations, at its District 7 Conference held Oct. 1-3 in Seattle.

MarCom was awarded both a Bronze Medallion for the 'Gap Year Brochure' in the Brochure Category, which was produced for Green River International Programs, and a Silver Medallion for the '2013-14 Foundation Calendar' in the Color Publication category, a product produced for the Green River Community College Foundation.

Both of this year's winning entries were produced by Whitley Horejsi, Graphic Designer.

For nearly 20 years MarCom has been awarded for its work at NCMPR's annual regional event, including awards for event logo designs in 2013, and again in 2012 for the college's redesigned website.

NCMPR offers the only regional competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges.

The NCMPR District 7 Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in communications at community and technical colleges located in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Yukon Territory.
