Faculty achievements in the media
Math Learning Center
Green River Faculty member Laura Moore-Muellerwas recently awarded the Washington Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges' Lifetime Achievement Award, as reported in the Kent Reporter on June 4. Moore-Mueller was nominated for the award by Mathematics Division colleagues Rochelle Mitchell and Donnie Hallstone.
Their nomination letter details Laura's lifetime involvement and leadership to improve outcomes for students and support excellence in instruction, noting that her most recent endeavor ''…has been creating transcript placement for Green River College…she was the first in the state to take this on as we have now used transcript placement for many years.'' Education in any subject is never just about the technical act of teaching, and so it comes as no surprise that her colleagues also describe her as a great role model, mentor and ''…a warm and loving person with a great laugh and a beautiful family (including two grandsons and a granddaughter)."
Congratulations to Laura Moore-Mueller, with Green River College's gratitude for a lifetime of service to this community!
