Green River hosts first annual IT Job Fair at Kent Station
The Technology Program at Green River College hosted its ''First Annual Employer Panel and IT Job Fair'' on May 7 at Green River's scenic Kent Station campus in partnership with the WorkSource Seattle King County Business Services Teams.
IT Bachelor students, graduating IT Associate students and this year's class of S-STEM scholarship recipients had the opportunity to meet representatives from leading technology staffing companies and direct-hire employers from across the Puget Sound region.
The event began with an employer panel featuring representatives from Axelerate, F5 Networks, General Services Administration, IID / Security Central, and WideNet Consulting, who conducted a lively question and answer session with students on hiring trends, interviewing techniques and resume best practices.
The employer panel was followed by a job fair featuring the noted employers and representatives from Chameleon Technology, City of Kent, Continuant, Kent School District, Robert Half Technology, TEKsystems, Toku Saku, and Zones Inc.
The event was unanimously dubbed a tremendous success by all of the employers and students participating.
The Technology Program would like to publicly thank participating employers, Green River College Kent Campus staff and Media Services, the Seattle-King County Business Services Team, and WorkSource staff for their collaboration and involvement in hosting this first-of-its-kind, large-scale, logistically complex event.
