Green River College will display over 50 pieces of artwork created by area high school students during Congressman Dave Reichert's annual Congressional Art Competition on May 5, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. The event will be held in the Bleha Center for the Performing Arts, and is a part of a nationwide event designed to recognize and encourage artistic talent.
The public is welcome to visit the Green River campus to view the students' artwork. The Performing Arts building will be open during the following hours:
- Wednesday, May 6, 4-6 p.m.
- Thursday, May 7, 4-6 p.m.
- Friday, May 8, 4-6 p.m.
Artwork will be evaluated by a panel of three judges and the winning piece will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol building for the next year. This is the third time Green River College has hosted the Congressional Art Competition. Congressman Reichert, a member of the Congressional Arts Caucus, has participated in the Congressional Art Competition every year since taking office in 2005.
