Gator Softball Splits with Grays Harbor
There was no shortage of offense when Grays Harbor came to play the Gators. The Gators went off for 24 runs on 26 hits in the two games. They captured game one by a final score of 13-5 eight-running the Chokers, and then lost a back and forth slugfest 13-11 in the second game of the double header.
In game one, the Gators plated one run in each of the first three innings and find themselves trailing Grays Harbor 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth. The Gators turned it on from that point on posting four runs in the fourth and a six spot in the fifth to end the game due to the eight run rule.
Kari Grow would lead the offensive attack going 6 for 7 with 3 RBI, and 4 runs scored. In game one, every Gator recorded a hit including six Gators with multi-hit games. All six of those players also recorded a run batted in. In game two, Grays Harbor's eight run 5th inning would prove to be the difference as the Gators fell 13-11. Alexis Cabey and Heather Prettyman would each double in the loss. The Gators had five doubles on the weekend.
Their league record currently sits at 3-3 and 7-14 overall. They have a doubleheader at Highline on Tuesday, April 14 and then a double header Saturday, April 18 at Clark.
