Jessica Norlander’s big game leads Gators to victory
Jessica Norlander and the Gators came to play when the Pierce Raiders came to ''The Swamp'' Saturday night.
After the first half, the Gators went into halftime with a comfortable 39-25 lead. That 14 point cushion was enough as the Gators went on to defeat Pierce 67-54.
Norlander led the Gators with 21 points, 10 rebounds and five steals; Gina Mitchell added to the contributions with 17 points and six rebounds; Nikki Qualls added 16 points, 12 of them coming from beyond the arc.
With the four 3-pointers made by Qualls, she has broken the school record for 3-point field goals made in a single season with 66. The previous record was 62 by Kemo Savage in the 1998-1999 season.
This win improves the Gators record to 4-8 in league and 9-15 overall. They will take on Tacoma at ''The Swamp'' on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m.
