IT Bachelor’s students attend National Retail Federation Recruiting event
On Monday, Sept. 29, students enrolled in Green River's new Bachelor of Applied Science in Software Development program traveled to the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, Washington, for the National Retail Federation's annual Shop.org Summit.
The Shop.org Summit brought together thousands of retail professionals, recruiters, educators, and students from around the nation to discuss trends, best practices and career opportunities in the digital and e-commerce world of the retail industry.
The event boasted an impressive lineup of keynote speakers, industry panels, roundtable discussions, as well as a highly engaging expo hall.
The Shop.org Summit also included an exciting student program that provided a space for Green River bachelor's students to network with executives and managers from companies like Amazon, Nordstrom, REI, Starbucks and Walmart. Students even had the opportunity to share resumes and discuss internship opportunities with on-site recruiters.
Attending industry and recruiting events such as the Shop.Org Summit is part of a larger emphasis Green River's IT bachelor's programs place on career preparation and readiness.
