Women’s Soccer edged by Shoreline Dolphins, Schumacher scores again

Freshman Kennedy Schumacher continues her outstanding season as she finds the back of the net for the sixth time in a 3-2 loss against Shoreline.

Shoreline came out ready to strike as Alexis Wade got the scoring started in the 1st minute, putting the Dolphins up 1-0. Schumacher hit the equalizer in the 26th minute and the Gators into half knotted up at 1. Green River was given a penalty kick opportunity in the 46th minute, and Sophomore Captain Monica Whitfield found the back of the net and put the Gators up 2-1.

A pair of goals from Hayley Warren in the 70th minute (assisted by Sarah Cronin), and 82nd minute was enough for Shoreline as they held on and defeated the Gators 3-2. Molly Lambert recorded 10 saves.

The Gators will host Skagit Valley at Wilson Playfields on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m. They will then host first-place Edmonds at Wilson Playfields on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. under the lights.
