Green River set to build new Auburn campus
Our new Auburn Center project is underway with approval from the Board of Trustees to purchase the 3.7 acres in north Auburn where the new campus will be built. This building will provide the much needed space, technology and hands-on training opportunities for our Aviation program as well as for our Small Business Development Center and Washington Environment Training Center.
The current Auburn center will be relocated to the new campus. The advantage of moving to the new space is that Green River will own the property and the building as opposed to renting.
The Green River Board of Trustees voted to approve the project at its May 14 board meeting, and forwarded it to the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges for review and approval at its June 17 meeting in Olympia.
The site of the new campus is located on the northwest corner of D Street Northeast and 12th Street Northeast in downtown Auburn.
The goal is to have the design complete, all the building permits in-hand and the site ready for construction by the end of spring 2015.
If all goes according to plan, the new Auburn Center will be move-in ready by fall quarter of 2016.
